The Organization was founded in 2008 following a congregational chapter held in Munar, India in 2008 that recommended that Christian Brother’s ministries worldwide actively engage in advocacy to challenge oppressive systems and structures that continue to impoverish and marginalize people, thus undermining their inherent dignity.
ERAN was therefore established to promote the course for social justice through improved access to fundamental rights and freedoms of all.
As a result, ERAN continues to undertake deliberate measures to prevent, promote and protect human rights, especially the rights of the child, from abuse and neglect. In addition ERAN conducts research, capacity building, lobbying and advocacy on different thematic human right issues for better policies and programming, with a deliberate focus on the poor and marginalized.
We achieve our objectives through partnerships and continuous capacity building with communities, institutions and like minded organizations.
